San Diego DUI Law Center

As a service to partygoers and fun people in San Diego, this free, updated DUI checkpoint location site is sponsored by the San Diego County DUI Law Center.

Last Friday night’s San Diego Gaslamp downtown DUI checkpoint resulted in twelve drunk driving arrests, San Diego police told defense lawyers.

Almost 2,000 vehicles were trapped in the San Diego DUI checkpoint, at the 1500 block of First Avenue, near Beech Street, between 10:15 p.m. Friday and 3:00 a.m., drunk driving attorneys in San Diego believe.

This San Diego drunk driving roadblock is a component of NDS – National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign that combines high-visibility enforcement with heightened public awareness through publicity, California criminal defense lawyers learned.

The San Diego DUI campaign is led by the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, along with the California Avoid DUI Taskforce Campaign.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from UC Berkeley.

Where’d they get that money?

1 driver with a suspended license, 12 drunk drivers, 11 vehicles were impounded at San Diego DUI checkpoint.
