The arrests made on local freeways and in unincorporated areas contributed to the 1,072 arrests made throughout the state by the CHP between just after 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol, DUI lawyers are told.
During last year’s holiday reporting period, which was two days shorter, CHP officers made 20 drunken driving arrests in San Diego County and 457 throughout the state, according to the San Diego County DUI Law Center’s sources.
