San Diego attorneys who specialize in DUI cases report that San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Vista Station, conducted a San Diego DUI / Drunk Driving / License checkpoint at 900 Sycamore Avenue, in the City of Vista. The San Diego DUI checkpoint took place between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM on Saturday.

501 vehicles were trapped & passed through the San Diego Drunk Driving checkpoint with 373 vehicles inspected: 4 drivers were arrested for San Diego DUI – driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 5th driver was arrested for displaying false evidence of vehicle registration with intent to defraud (forged tab sticker on license plate), a felony. Additionally, County Probation officers conducting a home check on an individual on probation for vehicular manslaughter at his home prior to the checkpoint operation, arrested the subject for violating his probation after he was determined to be drinking alcohol.

15 additional Field Sobriety evaluations were conducted on drivers suspected of San Diego DUI – driving under the influcence of alcohol.

Seventeen (17) vehicles were stored and cited due to violations including driving with a suspended license, unlicensed drivers, or as a result of arrest.

This San Diego DUI checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). They encourage drivers to report San Diego DUI / drunk driving by dialing 911 or 760-940-4556.
