San Diego DUI Law Center

TMZ confirms people in the know get special California DUI arrest treatment, at least in San Diego and if you’re a Padre, lawyers suggest.  Every person arrested in San Diego *except Coronado, Chula Vista and Carlsbad, goes to San Diego County Jail when it’s a DUI, attorneys know.  But…..

San Diego Padres Shortstop Everth Cabrera got arrested in San Diego last night/early Wednesday morning because San Diego DUI cops said the San Diego Padres shortstop was driving while high on weed.
Rotoworld says it’s another black mark on Cabrera’s career, already marred by domestic violence charges in 2012 (later dropped) and a Biogenesis-related 50-game suspension last year.

He’s been terrible on the field this year, too, so it seems pretty unlikely that he’ll be back with the Padres in 2015.

Right now, he’s on the DL with a strained hamstring and iffy to return this season.

U.S. border patrol agents initially made contact with the 27-year-old near a checkpoint on the 94 Freeway around 12:30 AM. Then the California Highway Patrol DUI cop hounds were called in to sniff it out.

After CHP arrived to the scene, deputies were convinced Cabrera was under the influence of marijuana and arrested him for DUI.

But here’s the special treatment – no escort to jail.  Instead, Cabrera was hauled to a nearby station where officials drew blood. He was eventually cited and released to his mother-in-law.
