Tonight, southern San Diego county will have yet another DUI checkpoint in Chula Vista at Otay Lakes Rd by Southwestern College and some unknown location in Escondido, California.
Escondido Calfiornia DUI checkpoint will be a secret until the local drunk driving roadblock is set up. All that is known now is that the San Diego DUI checkpoint starts June 1st, Saturday from 6 pm to 3 a.m. Sunday, according to San Diego DUI lawyers.
Last night, 966 vehicles passed through a checkpoint set up between 11 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. today in the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue, resulting in 15 arrests. 632 vehicles were screened. Cops detained 37 motorists to evaluate their sobriety.
Last night, 5/31/2013, San Diego Sheriff’s deputies from the San Marcos Traffic Unit staged a San Diego DUI checkpoint in the city of San Marcos. The San Diego DUI checkpoint was set up in the 1500 block of San Elijo Road, and resulted in the following:
Total Cars through the San Diego DUI Checkpoint: 1241
Total Cars into the San Diego DUI Checkpoint: 781
Cars Sent to Secondary for San Diego DUI Evaluation: 43
San Diego DUI Evaluations: 5
San Diego DUI Arrests: 1
4 vehicles impounded for various violations and 24 citations were issued for various violations, including driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, allowing an unlicensed driver to drive.
There’s a lot at stake so don’t drive drunk. Avoid jail, loss of license, insurance premium hikes and other costs totaling around $12,000 to $14,000 by getting a designated driver or avoiding these San Diego DUI checkpoints in California, say attorneys.
